Beddru

Beddru currently lives and works in Brussels, where he creates in his studio and regularly exhibits internationally. His art has been showcased at prestigious venues, including leading art fairs and museums, through both solo and group exhibitions. His works are held in prominent private collections, including those of members of the Saudi Royal Family and New Zealand billionaire Graeme Hart.

For Beddru, ceramics are a natural extension of his painting practice. Working with clay allows him to take his distinctive visual language beyond the flat surface, transforming functional and sculptural forms into immersive works of art. Each ceramic piece becomes an opportunity to explore colour, symbolism and storytelling from every angle.

Beddru approaches ceramics with curiosity and experimentation, embracing the unpredictable nature of clay, pigments and glazes. Rather than striving for perfection, he allows unexpected textures, colours and firing results to become part of each piece's unique identity. By adapting his painting techniques to curved surfaces, he continues to evolve his artistic practice while discovering new possibilities within the medium.

Among Beddru's ceramic works, Hommage to Henri (pictured) holds a particularly special place and remains his favourite piece. Created as a tribute to Henri Matisse, it reflects his fascination with vivid colour, fluid forms and the expressive power of simplicity. The ceramic surface allows the composition to wrap around the form, revealing new details and perspectives from every angle while celebrating the connection between painting and sculpture.
